Track & Trace of multi-items shipments, strongly reducing administration and pack- and unpack.
Econosto required a system to track all the shipment process. It must be able to track individual pieces and prepare reports of the shipment.
At Econosto we deployed the SMRT-software to facilitate the preparation and packaging of the goods to be delivered to customers. Utilizing RFID labels with information relevant to Econosto (supplier) but also containing information relevant to the customer (Econosto’s customer). Using a handheld computer Econosto and her clients can verify that all the parts to be delivered into a purchase order are there, could also be used to find missing parts, and could give alerts if some parts are there but belong to a different purchase order. This is the preparation phase.
Later on in the packaging phase, the application is used to establish the relationship between the content of a box and the box itself (which also has a label). That can be done using a fixed reader reading all the labels and establishing the link. Later reports can be printed showing the packing list both per case and per shipment.
oreover, the idea is that in future developments the customer could also get details about the order, using the same ID in the label, to acknowledge the reception of the goods, and track the mounting of those parts, and future state changes.
The results is, that Econosto will be able to track all the pieces in a shipment and to control which pieces are missing or which pieces do not belong to a shipment. And this only by performing a simple scan with a handheld, or moving the shipment case through a portal. The system will generate real time reports and statistics. It all leads to far less faults and a strong reduction in time to check order on completion.
